Petates made by Salvadoran Women from Nahuizalco region in Ruta de Las Flores, Sonsonate. The petates are made from a plant called Palma de Tule, it grows on rivers. The petates have been used since ancient times by the local natives as mats to sleep or rest. Ancient Mayans used petates to give some cushion to their beds made from dried mud.
This petates has been made by local Salvadoran hands and their size is 1.40mts(4.6ft) of width by approx 2mts(6.6ft) of height. We ship it straight from El Salvador to US and Canada.
